Changing the vocational skills landscape

written by Allan, Marketing Executive

I recently had the pleasure of attending Ufi Trust’s VocTech (Vocational Technology) event in London, showcasing the VR (virtual reality) assessment tool we’ve developed.

An inspiring solution

It was inspiring to see the enthusiasm for what is one of the first solutions to use VR for combined learning and assessment and we’re delighted to have Ufi supporting this digital solution for vocational learning.

Enormous potential

A truly immersive assessment experience, the tool is currently being used in an education programme run by environmental charity, Scottish Waterways Trust (SWT) and feedback has been very positive.

It’s great to be leading the way in improving vocational skills in the UK's workforce and we’re excited by the enormous potential for this VR solution to support training programmes in organisations across all sectors.

Improving Assessment

Our goal now is to create a SaaS (Software as a Service) product, giving users the ability to build their own VR experience. This will help make assessments more:

  • Relevant to the workplace and therefore a more accurate reflection of whether an individual has acquired the skills they need;
  • Consistent, since all candidates will experience exactly the same environment for their assessment
  • Transparent, as the assessors can see exactly what the candidate is sees
