RNIB Scotland's Looking to the Future transitions project helps blind and partially sighted people make the move from school to college, university, training or work.
The course is available to any young person, aged 15-25, with sight-loss and also to their friends, family and professionals who assist with the development and planning of the best way to move forward leading up to the end of secondary school.
This new free eLearning course highlights potential barriers to young people with sight-loss and contains a bank of valuable specialist advice & guidance on overcoming these barriers – e.g., disclosing disability in interviews and becoming confident in travelling independently.
Perhaps the most important area of the course however, is that it signposts ways to access support and face the future with confidence.
How eCom helps
eCom is delighted to have helped develop this course, ensuring the content is fully accessible and meets all web accessibility standards. And we are pleased to be delivering the programme for RNIB via our robust cloud-based learning platform, eNetLearn.
In October 2015 eCom and RNIB were award winners in the Education and Training category at the Herald Digital Business Awards for our ground-breaking work on Accessible eLearning for Blind and Partially Sighted People.
