eCom AllStars Take on The Wolf!

The eCom team took to the Highlands for the WolfTrek wild walk on Saturday 2 August in what was extremely wet conditions. Yet the dreich day didn’t stop us from having a wonderful time, and we raised over £450 for a great cause!

We arrived at Forres shortly after 4 o’clock, met up with the other eCom team members, signed on and received our awesome WolfTrek T-shirts. It was nice to see some of the beautiful scenery we would be covering during the hike, especially as it turned out to be foggy and even wetter in the evening.

Before the event started we had a briefing on the WildHearts charity and the event itself, followed by a warm-up session were we all did some much needed stretching along to the song ‘Happy’ by Pharrell Williams. This got us in the mood and raring to go! The Trek began and took us through some cool landscapes including an old railway line and viaduct.

The walk was very wet and rainy throughout, particularly the last few miles where it was pretty torrential with not a single piece of clothing coming back dry. The last 1.2 miles was THE longest walk of my life.

We were over the moon when we finally saw the Finishing marquee come into view at Lochindorb. A huge relief for the team, we were overall extremely pleased with our achievement in walking so far in such atrocious weather. At the end of the trek we graciously received our medals and met up with fellow eCom colleagues who had finished just before us.

Finally, after dropping the others off at our meeting point in Halbeath, my head hit the pillow at 5am for some much needed sleep, after what had been a really long but fun day. Safe to say there were some sore feet walking around the office on Monday morning.
